The Mercedes Benz 600 SEL W140 is a car that many people in Central Europe remember as the typical mafia limousine of the 90s. If you saw one back then it was clear that someone important or extremely wealthy was sitting inside. Even today this car does not feel outdated and in some ways it still feels ahead of many modern cars thanks to technology that slowly disappeared over time. Features like an electrically adjustable interior rear view mirror or electrically folding rear headrests showed how advanced the engineering was. This model did not move the brand forward by just a decade but in some details it feels like it was decades ahead of its time. Many people still do not realize how many innovations from this car later became standard in modern vehicles which is why I feel it never received the recognition it truly deserved.
